Global Burden of Endometriosis in 204 Countries and Territories from 1990 to 2019

Background: To our knowledge, no systematic update on the descriptive epidemiology of endometriosis and its trends has been published based Global Burden Disease (GBD) datasets. investigate burden in 204 countries territories from 1990 to 2019. Methods: Data were extracted 2019 Estimated annual percentage changes (EAPCs) calculated assess incidence disability-adjusted life-years (DALYs) endometriosis. Measures stratified by region, country, age, socio-demographic index (SDI). Results: From 2019, global DALYs increased 10.37% 16.36%, respectively. However, both age-standardized rate (ASIR) DALY showed downward (EAPC = –0.81 –0.80, respectively). The ASIR decreased all SDI regions, with largest decrease observed low-middle regions [EAPC –1.19, 95% Confidence Interval (CI): –1.21 –1.16] except Eastern Europe, only region where 0.15, CI: 0.01 0.29). decreases Qatar Oman, Conclusions: continued increase during 1990–2019. have shown decreasing worldwide, increasing detected Europe.
